Those of you who've biked or driven the white rim trail, is it really worth doing on a bike? Was thinking of going with some buddies and doing it booze cruise style over 4 days, checking out side trips like fort butte, holeman slot, etc along the way and only biking 3 or so hours a day.
But the jeep ain't cheap ($200/ day), it's all jeep track no single track, and the climbs are probably punishingly steep and not fun mountain bike single track graded climbs. So I'm wondering if we should scrap the bikes and just rent the jeep two days, camp one night and still do the side trips.. then spend the extra two days riding porcupine rim and slickrock, etc..?
I do a lot of backcountry camping but it's always places you can only get to on foot, on skis, or by canoe. So also worried I'll be biking on a jeep road getting passed by jeeps thinking "this is bullshit" :)
And while you're here what are you favorite/least favorite campsites on the trail? Thanks!
