Anyone else as frustrated as me with this field right now? I graduated a few years ago with a solid degree and still haven't been able to score a full-time, decent salary position. Last year I sent out at last 150 applications to finally get a temporary, 8-month tech gig. Now, I'll be back on the job market and am going through the same hurdles of no call backs, no interviews, and even less jobs that I see posted.
I understand the job market is ultra competitive, but I never figured temporary jobs that pay in the range of $12/hr would be so incredibly difficult to get. At this point graduate school seems like the logical conclusion, but hell, even Master's programs are crazy competitive to get into.
I'm all for putting in your time and working hard, but to a certain extent this just seems ridiculous.
Sorry to rant, but I need to vent. Anyone else experiencing similar frustrations? Perhaps I need to take a new angle on job searching and applying?
