I saw a reference to this in an answer to a completely unrelated question on metafilter or some such place, which sent me searching.
Apparently, there's a contingent of people out there who believe that Europe has historically been ruled by African nobility, and that there has been a massive conspiracy to whitewash history to make things appear as if Europe has always been a white populace led by white leaders.
