Do any of you know what exactly is tested for when applying for life insurance? I would like to buy another policy, but my agent is hung up on my weed use, and I am having a hard time trying to explain that I can consume without combustion. My instinct is that insurance companies want to write policies. I'm healthier than most, fitter than most (my age), eat a healthier diet than most (way less saturated fat I assume), and happen to use weed.
The agent thinks that any weed in the system will trigger a "smokers" rate, which i just can't pay for a policy of this size. My feeling is that if i test for weed, and not nicotine the insurance company would underwrite the policy with a standard non-smoker rate. They have to be enlightened about the seeming tipping point of acceptability regarding this plant, or am I naive?
