K2 Shreditor 112 vs Line Sir Francis Bacon (2014)

mercredi 23 septembre 2015

Hey guys,

My buddy is looking to get back into skiing seriously and wants to buy an all mountain playful ski for the Rockies. His priorities are maneuverability as he likes to hit tight trees and is more of a finesse than charger kind of guy. From this I've lead him towards K2 Shreditor 112/SFB territory. The only hitch is that he is 6' and 200-210 lbs. Based on his weight I feel he would overpower the 112s at 179 cm (more like 182) and the SFB at 184 (more like 180). Also, I feel that the Shreditors at 189 cm are too long for his priorities being more like at a 192 cm length.

So I suggested he go for the Line SFB at 190 cm. This puts him at around 187 cm which I think would be a good balance of ability in tight trees and having enough length to allow him to ski with some speed which I'm sure he will begin to do once he has a bunch of days under his belt.

I've also thought about the peacemakers/Kartel 106 due to his weight, but wasn't sure if he was up to that.

What do you guys think? Are the bacons too noodly for someone at 200-210 no matter what the skier type?

Thanks!
