TGR forums devolving into dystopian fascist dream scenario

What's next, Chinese mainlanders trolling in the ivory hunting forum?

Ya, fukin extreme!!!

I feel there is a major shift in the creation and policing of the threads. The mission is to hype and dump, extract monies while subjugating snow bunnies. The padded room is becoming less and less transparent. More management and stratagem is being levied. People are being targeted and cookies are being stolen.

A sage post in the bull fighting section has clued me into the bigger picture.

Atomic Bentchetler skis (183cm) with Rossignol FKS 140 bindings

These are the most playful, nimble, and surfy skis I've ever had the pleasure to ride. I coupled them with the Rossi FKS (Turntable) bindings because of their reliability, elasticity, and ACL protection technology. Everything is in good shape and I recently had the skis sharpened, waxed, and tuned with p-tex.

WTB: 4 season tent

Looking to purchase a 4 season tent. What I'm wanting:

- I'm in Canadur, so you gotta be in Canada or willing to price low enough to offset the awful exchange rate
- I live on the wet-coast, so good ventilation is a must
- Decent quality materials. Again, the wet coast is WET and windy. Would like to have a tent that can put up with our wet snow/sleet/snain/rain that is fairly typical from Nov to Mar/Apr.
- Relatively light weight (yes, I would love to get a 6# or 7# tent, but that likely isn't in the budget right now) so anything sub 9#/10# will likely have to do for now
- either in my general region (I'm on Vancouver Island but can get things from the mainland easily enough) or willing to work out shipping

Or, if you have any recommendations on a tent that can be had for a decent price from a retailer, I'd consider that as well.

So I and the rest of the Ungulates am/are in the market for new transport and I was looking for opinions on how to get from point A to B. Pretty basic needs but it has to be 4WD stick shift, no less than 30 mpg and I should be able to sleep in the back in the winter. Preferably less than $20k, new.

FS: Full suspension single speed tensioner

Selling my Yess ETR/D Full Suspension Chain Tensioner. This tensioner is used to convert full suspension geared MTB's to single speed and works flawlessly. I used this to convert my 140mm travel Giant Trance to single speed to race the all mountain competition at Downieville in 2014 but I really haven't used it since so I might as well sell it.

Works flawlessly for FS, but I have had skipping issues using it on a hardtail. Full suspension single speed is unbelievably fun. It is eerily quiet; quiter than my hardtail single speeds, and I never got any chain slap with this sucker even when the suspension cycles through its full travel.

Retail is $80 selling for $45. It is missing the little nut under my finger but you can grab that for a few cents at any hardware store.

'LATE' A British Freeride Film

Hey TGR,

Long time lurker but finally have something I hope is worthy of posting.
Coming at you from rainy Scotland is a film set to be released in Autumn.

With Jack Mullner of Puzzle Media on board for the filming and Gregor McLellan the friendly highlander taking pics we spent three weeks in Scotland in May this year hiking, skiing and filming on the remaining snow (surprisingly a huge amount). Classic Scottish conditions made for a definite lack of spring conditions with snow falling on the peaks all the way through the three weeks.

So stay tuned on here for pics, trip details and trailer launch.

Return of the Moment Garbones

Was looking at the Blister members section and saw this

"Big News: We’re bringing back a cult classic: the Moment M1. Once upon a time, Moment made a ski called the M1. It was later made stiffer, given tip rocker, and called the Garbones. This was never a ski for everyone, but for some skiers, it was—and still is—the best ski ever.
So we’re bringing back that stiffened up, tip rockered, final version of the M1 / Garbones, and it will be available via pre-order to Blister members."

Not sure I want to pay an extra fifty bucks to Blister to be able to buy these...but very excited these will be back in action.

$50 Weber Q1000 Grill (SLC Pickup Only, moving Friday)

I'm moving Friday and can't bring my Weber Q1000 grill. I paid $190 brand new for it 5 months ago. This is a screaming deal. Only catch is you have to pick it up in SLC before Thursday afternoon.

This is a perfect grill for car camping trips or small cookouts. The grill uses the camping style portable propane tanks but I believe you can buy an adapter to convert to a regular sized tank.

The grill has some stains on the top of the cover and shows signs of use, but it is 100% functional and probably just needs a thorough cleaning.

Conquering the Useless: The Movie

Hey maggots, it's been a while huh. Since Dunfee probably won't post this movie on the homepage, figured I'd just go straight to the source.

So here it is, announcing "Conquering the Useless". This was a big departure from the normal for me. It was a chance to go outside the tried and true boundaries of a ski movie and chase a new dream of mine. After "The Crack" it was a struggle to truly find "What's next?". I knew in my heart I had no desire to try to go out and top something like that. Knew that there was so many rad lines that took a little extra work to get to and plenty of rad adventures that didn't incorporate heli-lodges or guide support. Essentially, it was a shit ton of fun in an entirely different way for myself.

Movie will be out early October, in the mean time. Here's the trailer.

Texting addicts

If whatever we're trying to discuss is going to take more than about 5 back and forth messages by text, I'm just not going to deal with it. Figure out a time when you're actually willing to speak on the phone, or send me an email. I'm not a 12 year old girl and I'm not going to respond to endless texts. If I call you and you don't answer, call me back or GTFO. Fuck.

I know, first world problems, sweet story bro, etc. But what is with some people these days? A single, short call could take care of what you want to do in 20 different messages. Idiotic.

And another thing, if I give you a call I'm probably not looking for no answer and a text response. When you text me I don't respond with a call, don't respond to my call with a text (unless it's to say you're in a meeting or whatever and we'll talk later).

Law Advice, re: white priveledge, etc.

Hey all,

So last weekend I got in trouble for stepping outside of the high water line on a ranch in Montana while fishing. Montana has a stream access law that allows anyone to walk up a waterway through private property as long as they stand within the high water line. A friend and I were fishing, and were not cutting across fields or anything like that, but stepped onto a bank probably 3' outside of the water line.

The ranch manager then called the cops and said he has us on gopro footage, and we didnt argue. We were completely civil and apologetic, and were cited with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

The tricky part about this is that this is my second criminal trespass offense. When I was younger I climbed onto a building downtown with no malicious intent, and was able to get a deferred sentence for that, which affectively seals the record and makes the misdemeanor not show up on a background check. You can do this deferred thing a maximum of two times on misdemeanors.

My plan of action is to go to the court, ask for a second deferred sentence and simply explain my case. I realize that we were entirely in the wrong and that the land owner had every right to do what he did, but I would like to get the sentence deferred and sealed.

So I guess the real question is as follows. The judge will either grant the deferred sentence, or say no way. At this point I have the ability to hire an attorney and take care of the misdemeanor, which would likely cost about $1000. My other option is to simply pay the fine and move on.

I am thinking that since this is such a minor misdemeanor, that it isn't worth paying that amount of money to remedy the situation. Anyone here think differently? Would love to get some feedback. Curious as to how it would affect future job applications (in school again for electrical engineering) or just general life stuff.

Court date is on tuesday of this week, so I will keep this thread updated.

TL;DR single going to jail, dont drop the soap.
Law Advice, re: white priveledge, etc.

Did you become more of a wuss as you aged?

Shit, I look back on some of the stuff I used to do and I am amazed I didn't get seriously injured or paralyzed or something.

Maybe it's because I am not half in the bag all the time anymore? Maybe it's because injury recovery takes longer now? Maybe I ate too much soy?

I feel like a little wuss not sending the biggest park jumps. I mean I just started riding DH/Park like 2 months ago, so maybe I just need to be patient?

Basically, I spend most of the day at the park trying not to die, when 6 or 7 years ago I didn't think about that stuff and I think it helped me not psych myself out (when I used to do bigger shit on skis)

First up is a pair of 2014-2015 gotamas in a 187. Mounted for sth2 16s at recommended for a 305 bsl. Really clean skis some minor scuffs on top sheet. Bases and edges are great. Looking for 275 shipped. Bindings not included.

Second some 186 renegades mounted with deadbolt 18s at recommended for a 300 bsl. These have seen several years of use but are still in good condition. The top sheets show some wear. The bases are a little dry and the edges a little rusty from being stuck in storage but overall the skis are in good shape. Looking for 300 shipped or 225 shipped for the skis and 100 shipped for the bindings.

Next is some intuition pro wraps sz 27 mv. Heat molded once but never used due to some boot changes. These were stored in a cupboard for awhile so one of the liners has a crease on the tongue. Other than that they are in almost new condition and still have that like new odor. 75 shipped

Pair of smith iO. They are brand new I got them awhile ago but never used them. I don't have the box or bag. 50 shipped

Armada tracker jacket sz xl. Good condition no rips or tears everything works. 20k20k 3l jacket. It has some dirt on it but it will all wash off. 60shipped.
